James Donald Cummings Sr.

James Donald Cummings Sr., 59, died Jan. 1, 2009, after a hard battle against kidney/bone cancer.

He was born on Feb. 10, 1949, to Alex and Violet Cummings. He lived most of his life in Troy. He married his sweetheart, Jeanette May Siefke on Feb. 19, 1968. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gathering firewood, snowplowing and spending time with all of his children and grandchildren. His greatest joy was time spent with his wife. He was a very hard worker and took great pride in his work.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Violet Cummings, his sister, Wanda Bryant, his in-laws, Evelyn and Ray Siefke, and his sister in-law, Sharon Cummings.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Cummings, of Troy; children, Nikki Ramirez and husband Eddie, of Troy; Tammi Francis and husband, John, of Winnemucca, Nev.;  Jamie Bernhart, and husband, Dave, of Rathdrum, Idaho; son, James Cummings Jr. and wife, Kim, of Great Falls; Jessica Munts and husband, Logan of Troy; 12 grandchildren, Adriana, Emily, Isabel, and Olivia Ramirez of Troy; Samantha and Erik Francis, of Winnemucca, Nev.; Colby and Shaylee Bernhart, of Rathdrum, Idaho; Ashlynne and Connor Cummings, of Great Falls; Trevor and Tyler Munts of Troy; brothers, John Cummings and wife, Dixie, of Libby; Bob Cummings and wife, Sue of Troy; Bill Cummings, Larry Cummings and wife, Judy – all of Troy; Mike Cummings and girlfriend, Nancy of Cotati, Calif.; sister, Cindy Shelley and husband, Dennis, of Chehalis, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews.

Viewing at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home was scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 7 from 1-8 p.m. and also on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until noon. Services will be held at the Church of God in Troy on Wednesday at 2 p.m., with a potluck to follow.
