Logger basketball teams see seasons end

The Libby boys and girls basketball teams saw their seasons come to an end Saturday in the Northwestern A tournaments at Kalispell.

The boys took a 59-53 win over Ronan on Saturday morning in an elimination game but then lost to Whitefish, 56-48, in the third-place game.

Libby's Conner Benson scored 21 points in the win over Ronan. That total included five 3-pointers. Joel Fuller scored 14 and big man Alex Cislo added 12.

In the loss to the Bulldogs, Libby trailed by one point entering the fourth quarter. Whitefish outscored the Loggers by seven points in the final frame. Benson scored 18 for LHS.

The Logger boys ended up at 14-7 overall for the season.

The Libby girls lost 48-47 to Polson in an elimination game on Saturday morning. The Lady Loggers led by 13 points at halftime only to see the Pirates rally to the tune of a 19-5 run in the third quarter. The game then went down to the wire.

Libby's season ends with a 13-8 overall record.
