The hospital recently welcomed Cathy Wolfe to the managerial and administrative teams.

Wolfe has a bachelor’s degree of science in nursing from Northern Michigan University. She holds certifications in corporate compliance, and is currently pursuing a master’s in health administration.

Wolfe spent 10 years in the Air Force before deciding to start her nursing career in Michigan, where she worked in the intensive care unit, neonatal intensive care unit, neurology unit, and the orthopedic unit.  Wolfe found herself leaving Michigan to accept a job in Barrow, Alaska, as the director of Nursing Services for a small native hospital with a service area of 78,000 miles.

“My overall vision for St. John’s is moving toward building a new hospital while maintaining all of our current services,” Wolfe said. “The nursing division plays a vital role in providing input and recommendations in our patient care areas, and we are working hard to ensure that our new facility focuses on community and promotes healing for our patients.”
