Homer Clive

Homer Clive, also known as Homer Basye and Homer Clive Stokes, 70, died July 17, 2008 at his residence in Libby.

He was born June 4, 1938 to Violet (Keller) Helmer in Eureka. He grew up in Montana and attended schools in Somers, Anaconda and Troy.

In 1956, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and received an honorable discharge. He worked at the Anaconda Smelter and the St. Regis mill in Libby. In the early 1970s, Mr. Clive moved to Oregon and was self-employed until he retired in 1997 due to health problems. He moved back to Libby in 1998 where he resided until his death.

Mr. Clive is survived by two brothers, John Helmer and wife Edna, of Modesto, Calif.; Kenton Helmer and wife Peggy, of Jordan Valley, Ore.; two sisters, Hazel (Helmer) Drake of Libby; Irene Salisbury and husband Ray, of Austin, Nev.; and many nieces and nephews.
