The Libby High School boys and girls basketball teams took care of business on the road Tuesday to sweep Bigfork.

Lady Logger junior Jackie Mee hit for 20 points in the girls’ 43-37 victory while Conner Benson lit up the scoreboard for 16 in the boys’ 46-39 win.

Mee shot 45 percent from the field on 5-of-11 field goals. She made 2-of-4 3-point attempts and sparkled at the foul line at 8-for-10. Mee had a team-high seven rebounds.

Jaime Gilden also had a big game with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting and 4-of-6 free throws. Gilden was also a nuisance for Bigfork’s offense by coming away with eight steals. Brittany Martin had five assists and three steals.

Libby sits in second place in the Northwestern A with a 6-2 record. Columbia Falls leads at 6-1 but would have the advantage on a tiebreaker because of the Wildkats’ sweep of LHS this season.

In the boys game, Libby took control early and held leads of 12-6 after the first and 24-15 at halftime. Bigfork played the Loggers even in the second half but LHS maintained its advantage for the win.

In the Northwestern A standings, Libby and Whitefish are tied for first place in the loss column. The Loggers have played one more conference game than Whitefish and technically lead the Bulldogs by one-half game.

Besides the 16 from Benson, the Loggers also got 12 points from senior Joel Fuller. Brock Boll scored 19 for Bigfork, which remains winless in the conference at 0-6.
