Libby air quality in Stage 2 advisory
Erik Leigh of the Lincoln County Environmental Health Department issued a Stage 2 air advisory on Thursday for the Libby area.
The advisory is not a full-scale air quality alert. However, residents are asked not to burn "stick" wood stoves unless it is their only source of heat. Pellet stoves may be used in any air advisory stage or alert.
Leigh said particulate concentrations are expected to worsen overnight. If concentrations continue to rise and a prolonged inversion is predicted, then the department would be to issue a Stage 3 alert.
