CARD receives $550,000 appropriation
The Center for Asbestos Related Disease in Libby will receive a $550,000 appropriation as part of a larger measure approved Monday by the Senate.
The money doubles the prior level of CARD funding in Libby.
“It’s organizations like CARD that can really make a difference in people’s lives,” Sen. Jon Tester said. “I’m proud of the progress we’re making with getting folks in Libby the help they need, but there’s always more than can be done. This is certainly a step in the right direction.”
A major portion of the money will go toward the continuation of an expansion project.
