| December 13, 2009 11:00 PM

Glenn Severin Pearson, 65, died from heart failure on Nov. 19, 2009 at his home in Johnson Draw near Libby.

He was born in Oil City, Pa., on March 30, 1944 to Walter Severin Pearson and Marian Phillips Pearson. The family moved to Whittier, Calif., in 1955 where he graduated from La Serna High School in 1963.

He moved to the Yaak in 1974 and worked construction on the Yaak Road. In 1978, he moved to Johnson Draw where he lived his days enjoying the simple lifestyle that he chose. He worked for Lincoln Reforestation from 1978-93 and also worked as a carpenter and graphic designer.

Mr. Pearson was an avid reader and thinker; he loved to solve a puzzle whether it was in a book or making something work, but his passion was his music. He played with several bands including “Mighty Simple,” “Blue Flower” and “The Kootenai River Band,” and loved jamming with friends at their weekly sessions.

Family said he was known throughout the county as a talented musician and a gentle soul.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by a son, Shawn Severin Pearson and his wife and their two children – all of Chico, Calif.; and a sister, Marleen Griffiths of California.

Among those also mourning his passing are longtime friends, Mark and Barb Jungst and their children, Jeremiah Merritt, Laura Jungst and Kyle Jungst.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Mr. Pearson’s life is scheduled for the afternoon of Saturday, Dec. 19 at Johnson Draw.
