Jack B. Templin

Jack B. Templin, 77, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at his home in Troy from complications from mesothilioma. He was born Dec. 13, 1931 in Libby to Albert and Ida Templin.

He attended Libby schools. In 1950 he joined the U.S. Navy. He married Ida May Garrison in July 1950. They had 59 happy years of marriage. 

Mr. Templin enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and camping with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed going to bowling tournaments and spending time in the great outdoors.

He was a woods worker and drove a logging truck for 30 years. He also operated a dozer. He went back to school at age 60 and earned an associate’s degree in small engine repair. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Troy doing pump repair and fire control. He was a life member of the VFW and belonged to the American Legion. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Willard, Frank and James, and sisters, Elaine and Helen. 

Survivors include his wife Ida of Troy; daughters, Roxann Tunison and husband Kerry Sr., Debbra Welcome and Deanna Snow – all of Troy; and Linda James and husband Cliff of Post Falls, Idaho; a son, Jack Templin Jr. of Idaho; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

Services will be Friday, Dec. 11 at the Troy Community Baptist Church at 2 p.m. 

Schnackenberg and Nelson Funeral Home in Libby handled local arrangements.
