Libby golfers play in state women's amateur tourney

Five golfers from the Cabinet View Ladies Golf Club competed in the July 22-25 Montana State Women’s Amateur and Senior State Golf tournaments in Missoula.

Ruth Fenn and Christa Reisinger each finished second in their respective flights. Fenn shot a three-round total of 302 to finish two strokes behind Becky Wimmer of Havre in the MSWA’s seventh flight. Reisinger finished with 308 for second in the Seniors’ seventh flight.

Donna Havens finished third in the Seniors’ 10th flight with a total score of 374. Bobbie Lacklin placed fifth in the women amateur’s third flight with a 263.

In addition, the Montana State Women’s Golf Association honored Blanche Ward for many years of service to the organization and inducted her into its Hall of Fame. Ward also competed in the senior tournament.

Joanne Steele of Missoula won the Montana State Women’s Am tournament. Julie Andrews Jones of Missoula took the championship flight in the seniors’ competition.
