Geraldine M. Fletcher

Geraldine M. Fletcher, 77, died Aug. 1, 2009 in Libby.

She was born Dec. 19, 1931 at Troy to George and Nora Cottrell. She attended school in Jennings, Troy, Sandpoint and Libby. In 1948, she married Gene Fletcher in Libby. They had 11 children together.

She enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and rides in the country to see the beauty of Libby. She spent a lot of time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, in 1982, three sisters, one brother, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include six daughters, Val Sweet and husband Walt of Libby; Mary Beth Stroklund and husband Larry of Libby; Letty Overby and husband Darrell of Randle, Wash.; Molly Boggs of Port Orchard, Wash.; Betsy Arnold and husband Neil of Portland, Ore.; Linda Leazenby and husband Wes of Bozeman; four sons, Jerome Fletcher and Jim Fletcher of Libby; Steele and Leslie Fletcher, and Rene and Dawn Fletcher – all of Kalispell; a sister, Bethene Candee of Libby; brother, Darrell Cottrell of Columbia Falls; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will also be remembered by a special friend, Lloyd Myhre.

Services will be Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m. at the City of Libby Cemetery. Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby handled arrangements. A reception will follow at the VFW.
