Letter: Public input on Montanore appreciated

| April 30, 2009 12:00 AM

Dear Editor:

I would like to thank everyone that attended the Montanore public meeting on April 16. The meeting was well-attended with a wide range of interests and background. Participation in this process is important and critical to the agencies and their preparation of the environmental impact statement document.

As part of a team of folks working on the project, I appreciate the support from Lincoln County commissioners, St. John’s Lutheran Hospital’s comments on the issues of health care for the community, Libby’s business owners, employees and their families, and others in the community that came out on a beautiful sunny evening, especially since we all have been waiting for that first sunny day for a long time.

We also appreciate those that came out to the meeting with their concerns and comments. These are also essential to the process and the project. We will continue to work with the agencies to ensure the project is developed responsibly while providing jobs and other opportunities to the community.

We know that you all have other things you could be doing but taking time out of your busy schedules shows your dedication to the process and the project.

We will continue to work diligently to move the project forward.
