VFW hosting benefit for Stindt family

The Veterans of Foreign Wars in Troy is hosting a benefit for the family of Ricky Stindt Jr. to cover expenses related to his death last week.

Bingo will be held at the Troy VFW from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, along with a bake sale and raffle. Bingo will cost 25 cents per card, and winners will receive a surprise package. All proceeds will go to Stindt’s family.

Libby Class of 1979 plans reunion meeting

The Libby High School Class of 1979 is planning a reunion meeting for Tuesday, April 28, at 7 p.m.

The gathering will occur at Treasure Mountain Casino

City Council plans working meeting with EPA

The Libby City Council will gather for a special working committee meeting with the Environmental Protection Agency on Monday, April 27.

The public is invited to attend the meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

Cheap Date Movie to show film on Lord Byron

The Libby Public Library will present “Byron” on Saturday, April 25 at noon as part of its Cheap Date Movie program.

The BBC-produced film is not rated and tells the life story of Lord Byron – considered by many scholars to be one of the greatest romantic poets of the 19th century.
