Norma Rae Wuest

Norma Rae Wuest, 78, of Libby died from natural causes on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital.

She was born March 5, 1931 in Libby to Raymond and Edith Simpson Pival. She grew up and attended school in Libby and finished her schooling in 1949.  She was voted “Hi-Jinx Queen” her sophomore year of high school.

She married Walter Wuest on Nov. 4, 1949 in Kalispell and they made their home in Libby. She worked in the clothing industry for many years and was very knowledgeable about fashion. She especially enjoyed working at the Tog Shop.

She married Ralph Tedrow in the mid-1970s and he preceded her in death. She enjoyed traveling and visiting with her family.

Preceding her in death were her father, Ray Pival; sister, Mary Carrell; and great-granddaughter Natasha.

Survivors include her children, Pauline Churchill and fiancé Dave Draper of Spokane, Wash., and Wally Wuest and wife Darlene of Salem, Ore.; four grandchildren, Tracy, Rachel, Kyle and Paul; sisters, Mona Drake, Nancy Heyne and husband Budd, and Nadine Pival – all of Libby; brothers, Frank Pival and Janice, and Bob Pival and Jackie – all of Libby; mother, Edith Pival of Libby; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Services will be Friday April 10, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home Chapel in Libby. Visitation for friends and family was scheduled for 1-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
