Joe C. Foote

Joe C. Foote, 78, died Tuesday, April 8, 2009 at his home in Libby.

He was born on April 14, 1930 at Thom, Okla., the son of Eugene and Addie Foote. He grew up around Plummer and Tensed, Idaho. He moved to northwest Montana in the 1950s. He later moved to Libby and lived in Mahoney Acres.

In 1966 he bought a ranch up Granite Creek near Libby. He ranched and worked in the woods as a sawyer. He loved fishing and hunting. He retired in the early 1980s and built a home on Education Way.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Ricky in 1954 and J.C. in 1986.

Survivors include a grandson, Shon; two sons, Bill Foote and Katherine of Libby; and Rocky Foote of Germany; brothers, Johnny Foote of Lavonne, Idaho; Cecil Foote and wife Maxine of Troy; and a sister, Betty Foote of St. Marie’s, Idaho; five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Services were Saturday, April 11 at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home.
