Libby VFD plans live fire training exercises

The Libby Volunteer Fire Department announced that it plans to conduct live fire training exercises on April 30.

Providing air quality is acceptable on that day, the fire exercise is scheduled for approximately 7-11 p.m. at 695 Farm to Market Road. The structure (legal address is section 25, T30N R31W) is clear of any asbestos-containing material but will contain some petroleum-based products.

Auxiliary scholarship deadline May 31

The deadline to apply for four $500 special-assistance scholarships from the VFW John E. Freeman Auxiliary Post No. 5514 is May 31.

The scholarships, which were provided from the Clyde E. Mason Jr. Scholarship Fundraiser in October, will be announced in June and can go toward any trade school, college or university.

To receive an application, those interested may send a self-addressed stamped envelope to Fran Stanton, P.O. Box 445, Troy, MT 59935.

Easter Egg Hunt slated for Troy

The annual Roosevelt Park Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Easter Sunday, April 12.

Children 12 years old and younger are invited to come to the park and search for eggs filled with prizes. The Easter Bunny will also make an appearance at the free, volunteer- and donation-supported event.

Organizers are seeking volunteers and donations of cash, prizes and candy.

Easter Egg Hunt in Libby set for April 11

An Easter Egg Hunt in Libby sponsored by Youth Court Services is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 11 at J. Neils Park.

Age groups include: Walking to age 2, ages 3-5, ages 5-9 and ages 10-12. For each age group, a grand prize will be awarded along with second-place and third-place prizes. And more than 150 prize eggs will be hidden for each age group.
