Violet M. Riley

Violet M. Riley, 90, of Libby died from natural causes on Friday, March 27, 2009 at the Libby Care Center.

She was born in Cass Lake, Minn., in 1918 to Albert and Flavia Gamache Becker. She moved to Libby with her parents in 1925. She attended Libby Public Schools grades 1 through 12, graduating from Libby High School with the class of 1937.

She married Ralph Riley in October 1938. She left Libby in 1962 and lived in several areas while her husband worked in the farm implement business. She returned to Libby in 1992.

Her parents, husband, Ralph, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death. 

Survivors include her children Sharon Markham of Libby; Judy Rayome of Libby; Nancy Bloom and husband Mel of Libby; Ronald Riley and wife Linda Rae of Belgrade; Debra Bakke and husband Ron of Longview, Wash.; Kathy Kendall and husband Kirt of Vancouver, Wash.; 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. 

Services will be Thursday April 2 at 10 a.m. at St Josephs Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 on Wednesday with Rosary at 7 p.m.
