Letter: Bouncy castle only problem at Nordicfest
Dear Editor:
I want to thank the community and its volunteers for another wonderful Nordicfest.
The food was awesome and seeing all the arts and crafts from the community was fun. I only encountered one problem while enjoying Nordicfest with my 1-year-old daughter and my 1-year-old niece.
My sister-in-law brought them to the 'All Star Jump' bouncy castle for them to have some fun. When it was time to close up we were politely asked to take our girls out of the bouncy castle. We went to grab them and the guy running the event just shut off the machine.
The kids were still in it playing. The castle immediately collapsed on top of the girls. Myself and several onlookers were shouting at the guy to turn it back on while we tried to get the girls out. He just stood there and watched. Fortunately, neither of the girls was hurt, just badly scared. I understand that accidents happen but he didn't even apologize for what happened.
I would also like to thank Jesse and Nikki Jungst for their help in getting the girls out.
