Ronald M. Lund

Ronald M. Lund, 68, of Troy died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, from injuries he received while cutting wood near Troy.

He was born Dec. 30, 1939, in Thief River Falls, Minn., to Roy and Myrtle Lee Lund. He spent his early years in Minnesota. At age 7, he moved to Oregon where he attended school through the eighth grade. He then moved to Troy where he began his freshman year of high school. He graduated from Troy High School in 1958.

Mr. Lund attended the Air Force Academy for two years. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Carr, on Sept. 24, 1961. In 1965, they moved to Seattle where Mr. Lund went to work for Boeing. He worked for Boeing for 10 years.

He mov-ed his family back to Troy in 1974 and bought the Lincoln Theater and The Candy Bar. He operated the family business for more than 20 years. He went to work for Asarco in the early 1980s and worked there until they closed in 1993.

The couple then moved to Elko, Nev., where he worked for Barick. He retired in 2001.

M. Lund enjoyed fishing, hunting and his family, and could often be seen at the high school soccer games watching his grandson play soccer. His wife preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughters, Stephanie Lundin and husband Rob of Troy; Laurie Seefeld and husband Todd of Winlock, Wash.; sisters Joy Sanders and husband Don of Fortine, Mont.; Kathy Sneidgar and husband Roland of Fortine; brother, Jerry Lund of Eureka, Mont.; five grandchildren, Steven, Cassie, Greg, Chris, Matthew; and one great-grandchild.

Services were scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 2 p.m., at the Troy Church of God.

Schnackenberg and Nelson Funeral Home in Libby handled arrangements.
