Bull Lake Fire District gets Type 2 engine
The Western News
The Bull Lake Fire District upgraded its equipment on Nov. 15 with the arrival of a Type 2 fire engine, board member Gerald Wallace announced.
Mike Casey, acting board chairman, said the engine is capable of pumping 1,000 gallons per minute and carries 750 gallons of water.
“The unit will provide Bull Lake firefighters with an enhanced capability when responding to fire and other emergencies both within the district as well as in response to mutual aid requests,” Casey said through a press release.
Bull Lake acquired the engine and accessory equipment from Fisher River Valley Fire and Rescue. In addition, the district added other equipment through a donation from the Cabinet View Fire Department.
The engine went into service on Nov. 15 at the Bull Lake fire station on Angel Island Road.
In other news, the Bull Lake Fire District is accepting applications for membership in an ongoing effort to provide emergency fire and rescue services. Residents interested in assisting the community are asked to call fire chief Neil Odegard at 295-0812 or Casey at 295-9870.
