Donald Lawrence Bennett
Donald Lawrence Bennett, 61, died on Nov. 11, 2008 at his home in Libby.
He was born on Aug. 16, 1941 in Troy to Robert and Edith (Yeager) Bennett. He grew up during his early years in Libby and later moved to Monroe, Wash. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served four years on an ammunition ship in the South Pacific.
He later served five years in the Merchant Marines on board an ammunition ship delivering supplies to the U.S. Armed Forces in Vietnam. He then worked for a short time on ferry boats to Alaska.
He worked several years for the Fluke Co., in Everett, Wash. He moved to Troy to retire and later to Libby. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fly-fishing, hunting and riding his Harley motorcycle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Edith; and a sister, Patricia.
Survivors include his brother, Robert J. Bennett, Newport, Wash.; and a sister, Nancy Sofie, Dallesport, Wash.
Services will be Friday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. at the City of Libby Cemetery.
