Leslie E. Rose

Leslie E. Rose, 97, died Jan. 12, 2008 at the Libby Care Center. He was born Jan. 7, 1911 in Houser Lake, Idaho to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rose.

He was raised and educated around the Sandpoint, Idaho area. He enjoyed the outdoors and his favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing. His second home was at Spar Lake in Troy where he could often be seen in his boat.

Leslie started logging when he was a young man and had been an employee of the J. Neils Lumber Company for many years. His main occupation was as a welder, working on the building of both Noxon and Libby dams, retiring in 1973 at the age of 62. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia M. Rose in 2002.

He is survived by his children, Gary Rose and Neil Rose, both of Troy, Frank Rose of Chino Valley, Ariz., and Norma Madison of Post Falls, Idaho; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on May 3, 2008 at Troy Cemetery in Troy. Arrangements are by Nelson & Vial Funeral Homes & Crematory in Libby.
