ASW needs to be given another chance
To the Editor:
Where do I begin this letter?
I am writing to say I am getting so tired of how this buddy system is working on this asbestos cleanup. It seems to me that E.R. thinks they are the only ones that know what they are doing, and it’s quite obvious that a certain agency thinks the same.
Well, I care to differ.
After I read the article in the paper about ASW getting the plug pulled, I stopped and thought about all the things E.R. has been doing throughout the last few years, and it seems like a joke.
Does it not matter about their trucks going through town with dirt flying out the back of untarpped or partially tarpped loads? Or the fact that their trucks have been seen with kids riding around in them, workers hauling four-wheelers or snowcats, drivers not using turn signals and cutting people off?
Does none of this stuff matter, or is it just okay because it is E.R. we are talking about. I mean, yes, ASW is new to this, and they may need to speed up a little, but do we really want them to be in such a big hurry that they don’t do the job right and it has to be redone like a lot of jobs that have been done by E.R. in the past few years?
Be real. Everyone knows, in the case with E.R., it is quantity not quality. Let’s face it — the real problem is that E.R. is upset because they didn’t get every bid this year, but why should they be whining?
From what I hear, they were just handed the mine, and look, they even managed to get ASW’ last bid, too. Seems a little like favoritism to me because I know E.R. has had bids that overlapped before, and they had to work longer in the year to get them caught up or finish them up the following year. What is wrong with this picture?
