Ethel J. Baldani

Ethel J. Baldani, 97, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 at Libby Care Center. She was born Oct. 28, 1910 in Farmington, Mont. to Edward and Hilda Haakensen Anderson.

She was raised and educated in Farmington. Ethel married Ralph Baldani on Jan. 2, 1932 in Great Falls. They resided in Fairfield, Oilmont and Great Falls before moving to Shelby in 1947.

She resided in Shelby until 1999 when she moved to Missoula to live near her son.

Ethel moved to Libby Care Center in August 2007 where she was a resident at the time of her death. She and Ralph had three children. Ethel was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph on Oct. 19, 1982, a sister, Doris Nutter, and brothers Helmer, Howard, Joe and Junior Anderson.

She is survived by her children: Ralph Baldani, Jr. and his wife Caroline of New Stanton, Pa. (formerly of Shelby and Missoula), Marilyn Tooley of Helena, and Carol Sanderson and her husband Sandy of Libby; a brother, Art Anderson and his wife Bert of Choteau, Mont.; a sister-in-law, Madelyn Anderson of Great Falls; nine grandchildren: Pam Bjornn and Michael Tooley and families of Helena, Alan Tooley and family of Great Falls, Julie Brossman, Kevin Sanderson, Leslie Jaqueth and Byron Sanderson and families in Libby, Bob Baldani of Frenchtown and Shara Baldani and family of New Stanton, Pa.; 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a long time member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Shelby. Cremation has taken place and graveside services will be held in Shelby at a later date. Local arrangements are by Nelson & Vial Funeral Home in Libby. Burial will be under the direction of Whitted Funeral Chapel in Shelby.
