Lady Loggers take two in a row

The Lady Loggers were up 26-15 going into the Friday's 4th quarter against Columbia Falls Friday night in Libby, keeping the Wildcats at bay to eventually win their first Northwestern A victory, 36-26.

Libby was one step ahead of the Wildkats throughout the game, shooting 8 points to CF's 4 in the first quarter and 10 to their 7 in the second.

The Lady Loggers led at the half, 18-11.

The third quarter saw a repeat, Libby outscoring Columbia Falls 8-4, along with an attempted comeback by CF in the fourth, scoring 11 points to Libby's 10.

Sophomore Jackie Mee led in scoring with 15 points (3-3, 1-1), while seniors Holly Cirian and Laice Dedrick each made five points.

Senior Kory Kulbeck and junior Brittany Martin also contributed four points a piece.

In their double header against Ronan on Saturday night, the Lady Loggers scored another Northwestern A win against the Maidens, 43-29.

Once again, Mee led in points, with a game high of 18 points, making 9 each half and going 4-for-5 at the free-throw line.

Tied in the first quarter, Libby pulled ahead at the half, 18-14, broadening the gap further in the third where they outscored Ronan 14-4.

Brittany Martin also made 7 points in the game, while Brooke Hageness contributed 6.

Ishan Wylie led in points for Ronan with 15.

Libby is 2-1 in-conference and 4-3 overall.
