Klifton M. Harris
Klifton Montana Harris was born March 23, 1913 in Edgerton, Ohio. He died Dec. 27, 2007. As a young boy, he lived on his family's upper and lower ranches in the Judith Basin, Montana, where they raised horses and wheat. Kliff also lived in family homes in Pacific Grove, Calif. and Ohio. He married Bonita Neikirk from Bryan, Ohio in 1937. They moved back to Pacific Grove, where Kliff resided for 67 years. Kliff was a fine golfer on the Monterey Peninsula and club champion in the late 1940's in Pacific Grove.
Kliff and Bonnie had two children Suzanne and Mike. Kliff was preceded in death by Bonnie in 1984 and Suzanne (Sherwood) in 1999. Every summer Kliff returned to northwest Montana to flyfish. He stayed with the Dale and Marie Slauson family in Libby. They were very kind to Kliff and took great care to look after him during his visits.
Kliff loved life, the earth and his brothers and sisters at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses where he and Bonnie associated.
Kliff is survived by his son Mike and his wife Grace; grandchildren Michael and his wife Tracey, Andrew, Beth Nagorne and her husband Ryan, Ben and his wife Nichole, and Gracie; great-grandsons Jordan and Cole Harris and nephews.
Kliff will be greatly missed by his family and friends, as well as many in the community who came to know him over the years. There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Pacific Grove, located at 1100 Sunset Drive.
