Two Libby residents shot, killed Friday

A male and female, both in their late 40s or early 50s were found dead south of Libby at approximately 2 a.m. on Friday inside the Montana State Highway Department building, three miles south of Libby on U.S. Highway 2.

The two victims, Robert Plough, 49, and Louise Plough, 54, both Libby residents, died of apparent gunshot wounds, according to a press release from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department.

The incident is believed to have occurred between 11 p.m. on Thursday and 1 a.m. on Friday, said Boyd White, Libby Police detective.

Deputies have determined that one of the deceased is also the suspected shooter in the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
