Thanking a benevolent community
To the Editor:
I just want to thank all the kind people who have helped out so many with all our snow this winter.
Last week I spent one morning digging out the snow berm the plow put into my driveway.
The next day, as I was leaving the plow came through again and I thought, "Oh no, I'll have to do that all over again when I get home in the late afternoon."
But, thanks to a kind man, I didn't have to.
I went to the Venture Inn for the afternoon and asked the man plowing the parking lot where he wanted me to park, then vented my frustration by saying I wish I had someone to plow my snow berms, and that kind man said he might be able to do it, to a perfect stranger.
When I got home at 4:15 not only my driveway, but also the mailbox, and a small parking spot were all open.
I was relieved and grateful.
All winter friends and neighbors have been so helpful, not only to me but to the entire neighborhood.
I know I speak for many other single women who have been helped in the same way with plowing and general snow removal during this heavy snow time.
What would we do without the great people in this community!
