Lucille I. Penney

Lucille I. Penney, 85, of Libby died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008 at the Libby Care Center from natural causes. She was born March 28, 1922 in Kealry Springs, Saskatchewan. She grew up on a farm outside of Calgary, Alberta and walked to school every day.

She raised her children during the depression when times were tough. She didn't have much but was always able to make sure her children had food in their stomachs.

Lucille lived in numerous places across the United States and Canada, but always seemed to find her way back to Libby. She enjoyed crocheting, and crafting. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by sons Orville and Darrell Nolting.

Survivors include: her children Ruth Choate and her husband Larry of Libby, Carolen Nolting of Medical Lake, Wash., and Diania Danks of Chicago; sisters Millie Whyte of Ponoko, B.C., Mable Davis and her husband Ron of Calgary, and Hazel Cornel of Victoria, B.C.; a brother Lester Duckett of Victoria; sister-in-law Mary Duckett of Calgary; grandchildren Katrina Adkisson and Dale Ginger; great-grandchildren Shantel Adkisson, Derek, Tyler, and Cory Osborne and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be sent to P.O. Box 81 in care of Ruth Choate.

Local arrangements are by the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home in Libby.
