Adeline T. Greason

Adeline T. Greason, 87, of Libby died of natural causes on Dec. 26, 2008 at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital.

She was born on Nov. 23, 1921 in Herndon, Kan., to Paul and Theresa (Green) Weishapl. She grew up and attended St. Mary’s School until she graduated in 1938. She later attended Marymount College.

She married Ross S. Greason shortly before he entered the U.S. Army in 1942 at Atwood, Kan. They moved to Libby in 1945 so Ross could work for W.R. Littell, who purchased The Western News.

She enjoyed sewing for people, working on the blood drive and the election board. One of her favorite pastimes was shooting blue, ruffed and Franklin grouse on the fly with her 410 shotgun.

Survivors include her children, Peggy Zirkle, Edmonton, Ky.; Jody Alkire, Clarkston, Wash.; Patti Callant, Washougal, Wash.; Douglas P. Greason, Libby; Lisa Townsend, Glasgow, Ky.; Darien Greason, Bethel, Alaska; grandchildren Ralph Paul Roberts, Josie Collins, Greg Roberts, Alan Roberts, Whitney Castle, Brenna Alkire, Brent Jones, Ricki Jones, Josiah Callant, James Townsend and Ayla Townsend; great-grandchildren Jon Roberts, Toni Vincent, Jordan Roberts, Kaitlyn Roberts, Breanna Roberts, Christopher Roberts, Kayleena Roberts, Collin Roberts, Erica, Laura and Dillon Castle, and Lee Jones; great-great grandchildren Kaylee Rae and Rylan Roberts, and Weston Vincent; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 2 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Libby.
