Libby School Board to meet on Friday

The Libby School Board announced a special meeting for Friday, Dec. 19, at 9 a.m., at the Central Administration Building.

The board will be conducting business manager interviews with Michael Crowe at 9 a.m.; Mary Jo Zwang at 11 a.m.; and Leslie Forster at 1 p.m.

Archery club plans work day

The Libby Archery Club is planning a work day on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 1 p.m., at the bowling alley,

The work day is planned to get the range ready for the club’s winter league, which runs from Jan. 18-March 15. Open shooting for paid members runs from Jan. 1 through the end of March.

Information on registering for the league or joining the club is available at the Libby Sports Center.

Handel’s ‘Messiah’ to be staged Sunday

G.F. Handel’s “Messiah” performance is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m., at the Memorial Center in Libby.

The Libby Community Chorus and Libby Chamber Orchesta will perform. The director is Lorraine Braun. Jeanie Gentry is piano accompanist.

The organizations welcome donations.

KVRZ schedules local Christmas shows

KVRZ in Libby (88.9 FM) plans to air two Christmas shows on Sunday, Dec. 21.

“Whacky Christmas” hosted by Bill Martin and Brian Sherry will air from 6-8 p.m. “Diva Christmas” hosted by Moira Blazi follows from 8-9 p.m.

Free Christmas dinner planned at Libby church

Libby Christian Church announced that it will again sponsor a free Christmas dinner for the community.

The event will run from noon-2 p.m., on Christmas at the Libby Senior Citizens Center.

For those who are home-bound, call the Senior Center (293-3747) to schedule a delivery.

Santa to appear under Troy tree on Dec. 24

The Troy Veterans of Foreign Wars and Ladies Auxiliary will present “Santa Under the Troy Tree” on Wednesday, Dec. 24 from 4:30-6 p.m.

Santa’s helpers will be on hand to give each child a sack with an apple, orange and candy canes.

Santa headed to Rosauers on Dec. 20

Santa Claus will be visiting Rosauers in Libby on Saturday, Dec. 20 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Digital pictures will be available for $5 and children will receive cookies.

All proceeds will benefit Relay for Life.

Troy plans 5th Quarter Christmas Party

The Troy Trojan Booster Club invites all students in seventh grade through college to attend the 5th Quarter Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 20 following the local high school basketball games.

Activities include a “White Elephant Gag Gift Exchange,” games, juggling exhibition and food. For the gift exchange, participants should not buy a present but bring it from home and be creative and funny with the gag (for example, Preparation H, old holey underwear, false teeth, etc.).

Parents who would like to help with the event are also invited.

Santa to appear at  VFW post on Dec. 21

Santa Claus will make another appearance in Libby – this time at the VFW post. Santa will be available to children on Sunday, Dec. 21 from 2-4 p.m.

Church in Troy hosting dinner on Christmas

The Troy Community Baptist Church announced its plans for a free community Christmas dinner on Saturday, Dec. 20.

The dinner, open to all, will be staged from 3-6 p.m.
