Betty J. Stubbs

Betty J. Stubbs, 80, a longtime Libby resident, died from natural causes on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, in Spokane, Wash.

She was born April 21, 1928 in Cut Bank, Mont., to Fred and Emma Kohles Giese. She grew up in Kalispell.  On Nov. 14, 1949, she married Glenn Eugene Stubbs in Somers. They moved to Libby in 1957.  Mrs. Stubbs enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, quilting, scrapbooking, crocheting and volunteering at a community thrift store, camping, picnicking and special family times.

Her husband Glenn; five brothers Durwood, Alvin, Clifford, Roland and Frederick; three sisters Dorothy, Irene, and Altonia; and a grandson preceded her in death.

She is survived by three children, James Case and wife Barbara of Spokane; Glenn Stubbs and wife Linda of Libby; Altonia Lawrence and husband James of Spokane; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. at the City of Libby Cemetery. Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby handled arrangements.
