Letter: Please take pride in 'Mother Earth'
Dear Editor:
On Saturday, Nov. 29, my three granddaughters and I visited Kootenai Falls. I was a bit disgusted with what I saw.
Why is it that people must make their presence known by the garbage they leave behind? Where is the respect for “Mother Earth”?
Kootenai Falls is very sacred to the Kootenai people, of which I am a member. Why must people litter?
You can’t even go for a ride in the mountains without picking up garbage, beer bottles, beer containers and the like. People, please, I beg of you, take some pride in what we have been given to take care of, “Mother Earth.” She deserves to be respected by one and all.
When you go out into the woods or wherever you go, take a garbage bag with you and pick up what others have so blatently discarded. I know most of you wouldn’t like it if I drove by your house and threw my garbage into your yard, have the same respect for public property!
Kisuk kyukyit. Good Day.
