Troy High School senior Aaron Palmer earned Class B all-state honors following an exceptional senior season that saw the Trojans land in the playoffs for the first time in 16 years.

Palmer was a double-selection for the all-state squad at both quarterback and defensive back. Palmer’s tough-nosed play on both sides of the ball helped Troy finish second in District 7-B and qualify for the postseason. The Trojans lost in a tough first-round battle to Loyola Sacred Heart.

The District 7-B all-conference squad was also released with eight first-team selections from Troy. As expected, Palmer made it at both quarterback and defensive back but also got the nod on special teams as punter.

Junior Tom Roeder was an ironman selection at both guard on offense and tackle on defense. Senior Steph Jones made first team at wide receiver, senior Shawn Duncan got picked as an offensive tackle, junior Brian Hammrich was honored at defensive end and junior Chris Hoffman made it at linebacker.

Troy also had a trio of second-team selections – Shado Garrett at tight end, Jake Alexander at running back and Jesse Day at defensive back.

Honorable mention selections from the Trojans were Duncan at defensive end and Cullen Metz at defensive tackle.
