Tree of Light ceremony in Libby set for Dec. 5

St. John’s Hospice will be holding the 20th annual Tree of Life Lighting Ceremony at the Memorial Center on Friday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend.

Libby’s Parade of Lights scheduled for Dec. 5

The annual Parade of Lights down Mineral Avenue in Libby is coming Friday, Dec. 5.

The parade will line up at 5:30 p.m., on Lincoln Boulevard in front of the Memorial Center. For more information, call the Libby Area Chamber of Commerce at 293-4167 or Candace Peterson at 293-6285.

Troy’s Christmas tree lighting coming Dec. 6

The annual lighting of the Troy Christmas tree is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at Second Street and Kootenai Avenue.

Santa Claus will be on hand for the event, which will also include hot chocolate and cookies.

FVCC board plans meeting for Dec. 4

The Flathead Valley Community College Board of Trustees will meet on Thursday, Dec. 4 from noon-4 p.m., for a workshop retreat.

The meeting will be held at 701 Grandview Drive, Kalispell. Topics of discussion will include issues related to the college. No board action taken during the meeting.

City Council schedules breakfast meetings

The City of Libby, mayor Doug Roll and the City Council invites the public to attend the weekly breakfast meeting on Wednesdays at 7 a.m., at Antlers Restaurant.

The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 3, and will meet on every Wednesday thereafter. The purpose of the meetings is to keep council members in touch and up to date and committee discussion on current business.

No decisions are made at the breakfast meetings, held for informational purposes only.

Koats-4-Kids announces its drop-off locations

Drop-off boxes for Koats-4-Kids are located at a half-dozen spots around Libby.

The organization said the drop-off boxes are at Flathead Valley Community College, Libby Drug, Libby Furniture, Rosauers, Ace Hardware and Montana Lands and Homes.

Koats-4-Kids is located at 1318 Minnesota in the Montana Lands and Homes office.

Libby native, author to appear at book-signing

“Eat Purple Carrots at Midnight” author and Libby native Debb Westlund will be on hand for a book-signing on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at Cabinet Books.

Cabinet Books is located at 315 Mineral Ave., in Libby.
