Marzella Floy Jones

Marzella Floy Jones, 85, died Aug. 5, 2008, at Montesano, Wash.

She was born on June 2, 1923, in Troy, Mont., the daughter of Victor and Dorothy Sather. She spent her early years in Troy and then moved to San Francisco to live with her aunt, where she attended high school and college.

During World War II she met a young sailor from Aberdeen, Wash., named William Jones. They were married on June 15, 1945. After her husband was discharged they moved to Aberdeen.

Over the next 63 years, the couple raised six children ' Ruth Bell, Paul Jones, Barbara Caskey, David Jones, Greg Jones and Karen Leggett. They also have 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Jones helped run the Jones Photo Co. She was also an active member in the Presbyterian Church, a charter member of Chapter DP of PEO, Eastern Star and many other community organizations.

She is survived by a brother, Paul Sather of California. She was preceded in death by her son, Greg.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church of Aberdeen on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008. Interment is at Fern Hill Cemetery.
