Eureka sweeps Troy girls tennis

The Lions girls’ tennis team dominated Troy last Tuesday afternoon in Eureka, 7-0.

In the singles category, No. One for Troy, Faith Stapley put up the biggest fight, going head to head against Eureka’s Martina Quade, but losing 6-4, 6-2.

After Quade, the Lions took three remaining singles contests without surrendering a game.

Troy’s Doubles team Tara Duzan and Ande Hawkins of Troy also battled to the end against Eureka’s Sasha Trudeau and Ashley Gullo, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2.

The top doubles, Steph Marshall and Jessica Lyons, also fell to the Lions no. one doubles team, 6-0, 6-1.
