Troy played a round robin in Missoula over the weekend, with all the Trojan girls winning at least one of their three individual matches.

The round robin was played at Fort Missoula courts, with the boys and girls playing Valley Christian and Loyolla, and the girls also playing Darby.

Troy tennis coach, Nancy Prieve, said this is the second year in a row they've attended the round robin, and last Saturday was a beautiful day to be outside.

“It was a great day for tennis in Missoula,” said Prieve. “Valley Christian furnished grilled burgers all day for the kids. It was a long day but a fun day.”

Although official stats weren't available at the time of publication, Prieve said

every single Trojan girl won at least one game, so it was a success.

“Our number one girl (Faith Stapley) won two out of three matches and lost the last one in a tie break,” said Prieve.

“Our number four (Kelly Kinney) won a match, as did our number two doubles team (Ande Hawkins & Tara Duzan).”

Prieve also noted their number one boy, Matt Rogers and number four, Brandon Rego, went 1-1 at the round robin, while number three, Jake Higgins, won both his matches.

The number one doubles team, Jesse Day and Shado Garrett, won two games, while the number two doubles team, Mike Hirst and Kody Hoffman, split their games.
