William D. Evans

William D. Evans, 75, died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at his home in Troy. He was born on Jan. 17, 1933 in Sheridan, Wyo., the son of Eldon and Shirley (Johnson) Evans.

He had resided in the Troy area since 1981 and worked at Asarco until his retirement in 1994.

He was a great father who loved to be around people. He loved to create unique art that was often humorous. He also had a love of music and spent a lot of time in the great outdoors.

Survivors include his six children: Cheryl Evans of Hardin, Mont., Clay Evans of Tucson, Ariz., Roderick Martinez of Phoenix, Ariz., Joni Swapp of Thatcher, Ariz., Laurel O'Neal of Kalispell and Theresa Evans of Troy; two sisters: Barbara Bozeman and Patricia Reed; and a brother John Worley, all of Oceanside, Calif.; and 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Private family services were held. Arrangements are by Nelson & Vial Funeral Home & Crematory in Libby.
