Janice R. Sigismond

Janice Roberta Sigismond, 68, of Hardin formerly of Libby, passed away March 24, 2008.

She was born May 23, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois a daughter of Carl and Adeline Williamson Anderson.

She was raised and received her education in Illinois. Following her education she worked for the Chicago Board of Trade and later wrote insurance policies.

Jan married Don Sigismond on Nov. 5, 1965 in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and the couple made their home in Libby. Mr. Sigismond died in 2003 and Janice moved to Hardin.

Jan was an active mom who was a Cub Scout Den Mother for five years, volunteered and organized the McGrade School hot lunch program and was an active counselor with the Libby Women's Help Line for battered and abused women. She was part of the Combined Campaign telethon, hospital auxiliary, Honey Bee Homemakers and women's JC's, just to mention a few.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Red Hat Ladies of Libby and Hardin. She enjoyed painting, art and craft, with her granddaughter Sammi, hanging out with grandson Quinn and talking and playing with her youngest grandson, Mathew.

Survivors include her son Lance and his wife Neta of Garryowen; her sister, Marilyn (Mike) Wartalski and her four beloved grandchildren, Quentin, Samatha, Mathew and Winter.

We want to thank the Heritage Acres, Kim Caprata and the Hardin Clinic staff for all of their loving care.

Visitation will be held 1:00 to 5:00 PM Friday in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 29 in the Chapel. Cremation and private inurnment will follow the services.

Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.
