Troy volleyball ends three-game week

On Thursday, the Troy Lady Trojans played at Noxon losing in four games 21-25, 25-23, 20-25 and 23-25.

Friday the team played at home against Loyola Sacred Heart Catholic High School. The Trojans lost in three games 19-25, 19-25 and 9-25.

Liz Straley had 8 assists. Delsey Olds had 2 blocks and 4 digs, Brandy Koch had 3 aces and Alicia Anderson had 4 kills.

On Saturday, the Trojans went up against Valley Christian with Troy winning in four games 25-17, 22-25, 25-17 and 25-22.

Straley had 9 assists. There were no blocks made. Megan Etienne had 9 of the 30 aces for the team. Etienne also had 15 serves in a row.

"Megan was amazing," said Troy Volleyball Coach Sandra Jansma. "Brandy did awesome too, she was really stepping up. The seniors are really close, the whole team is close."

Of the 20 team kills, Olds had 5. Olds and Koch also had 5 digs each.

"We came off a 1 1/2-week break and we had a slow start,"Jansma explained. "Then we had three games in a row. It took a toll."

The Lady Trojans JV team played against Libby on Tuesday and the team plays in Thompson Falls on Thursday. They play against Florence and Darby at home on Saturday.

"We have to learn to be more consistent and not so up and down," Jansma continued.
