Maren R. Miles

Maren R. Miles, 64, of Libby died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007 at her home in Libby from cancer.

She was born Jan. 21, 1943 in Vashon, Wash. to Ralph and Lois Kaarsgard Tucker.

She grew up on the island and attended school at Curlew and graduated from Curlew High School in 1960.

She married Fred Miles in 1961 in Seattle. They moved to Libby in 1993.

She enjoyed volunteering for Girl Scouts Troup # 356 and Headstart.

She also enjoyed motorcycles, having her family around, and the out-of-doors. She was a loving wife and mother and will missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include: her husband Fred Miles of Libby; four children Ralph Miles of Seattle, Alta (Sissy) Miles and Claude of Libby, Fred Jr. Miles and his wife Rachel of Vashon, Star Shine Miles of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; a sister Janelle Ward of Alaska; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Elks Club.

Local arrangements are by the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home in Libby.
