Trojans work toward district match

The Lady Trojans fell to Eureka on Thursday, losing in four games during their homecoming week.

With scores of 16-25, 19-25, 25-16 and 10-25, the girls contributed 18 aces, with senior Liz Straley taking 7.

There were 13 kills, with senior Brandy Koch contributing 4.

Senior Delsey Olds had 7 of the 21 digs for the team.

Olds also contributed both of the 2 team blocks. Of the 14 team assists, Straley had 12.

The Trojans came up against Thompson Falls on Saturday losing in three, with scores of 20-25, 13-25 and 18-25.

Straley contributed all 14 assists for the team.

Olds had 2 of the team's 3 blocks. Olds also had 4 of the 13 team kills.

Senior Megan Etienne had 5 of the team's 13 aces.

Of the Trojans 18 digs, junior Alicia Anderson had 5.

"We need to work on communication and staying consistent," said coach Sandra Jansma. "We need to put it together for district.

"We're losing games, but we're trying to stay positive and keep our heads up and keep moving forward," Jansma added.

The Trojans played Mission on Tuesday at home and they play Noxon on Thursday and Stillwater on Friday at home.
