Lady Loggers still going strong

Despite a busy week of homecoming activities and a 5-game match against Whitefish on Tuesday, the Lady Loggers still came home with a win against Bigfork on Saturday for their homecoming match.

The Loggers won in three with scores of 25-11, 25-16 and 25-18.

The team came away with 16 aces with Jackie Mee and Brooke Hageness each getting 5. Mee had a 94 serving percentage and Hageness had a serving percentage of 93. Megan Wedel also had a serving percentage of 93. The overall team serving percentage was 91.

"We finally got past the 80s in serving percentage," said coach Cindy Ostrem-Johnston. "The girls served pretty aggressively."

There were 33 kills during the match against Bigfork, with Mee taking 9 and a 353 attack percentage. Laice Dedrick had 8 kills and a 471 attack percentage.

Shelby Barton came home with 6 kills and a 750 attack percentage, while Nichole Newman contributed 5 kills and a 333 attack percentage. The team attack percentage was 301.

The team amassed 31 assists with Barton contributing 22. There were 4 blocks, with Crysta Quinn and Mee each getting 2.

There were 30 digs, with Hageness bringing 8, Quinn had 7 and Dedrick also contributing 7 digs. Dedrick also had a 2.80 serve receive ratio. Wedel had a perfect 3.0 serve receive ratio. The team had an overall serve receive ratio of 2.45.

"Laice had a great match," Ostrem-Johnston added. "Overall, the entire team contributed. I was a little bit worried going into the Saturday game because of homecoming activities and the five games against Whitefish on Tuesday, but they came out and did great."

The Lady Loggers play against Kalispell on Thursday and will attend the MCPS Tournament in Missoula on Friday and Saturday.
