Dwayne Delzer

Dwayne Delzer, 82, died Monday, Oct. 1 in Missoula.

He was born at Libby to Gus and Verna (Thomson) Delzer on May 29, 1925. He was raised and educated in Libby and later enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving for four years during World War II. During that time, he married Dorothy Ledum and following his honorable discharge, they moved to Spokane, Wash.

Dwayne attended Kinman Business University and Whitworth College and later was employed as an accountant with General Machinery in Spokane until his retirement. Following his wife's death in 1994, he moved to Missoula to be near family. Dwayne enjoyed attending the activities of his grand nieces Libby and Lacey and attending Grizzly basketball and football games.

Dwayne is survived by his sister, Darleen Kain and her husband John; his niece Laurie Zinke and her husband Dave; and grand nieces Libby and Lacey, all of Missoula; and special friends Kay and Jay Simons of Spokane.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at the City of Libby Cemetery. Arrangements are by Nelson & Vial Funeral Homes & Crematory.
