Linda A. Owen-Segura

Linda Ann Owen-Segura, 64, died Friday, Sept. 28, at her home in Troy.

She was born Nov. 5, 1942 in Dalton, Ga., the youngest of 10 children, and was raised and educated there.

She moved to New Iberia, La. where she married Donald Lee Segura; they had two sons and were divorced in 1979.

Linda crossed the country from Florida to Alaska and Boston to Seattle, working in several places at unique and interesting jobs.

Among her jobs were: working for Phillips Petroleum on an off-shore drilling platform, long-haul truck driving, and as a drill pipe inspector in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma.

While residing in Alaska in the late 1980s, she returned to Georgia to visit family and camped in the Libby and Troy area. She soon returned to the area to reside.

Linda loved the Montana great outdoors and enjoyed wilderness camping, backpacking and hunting with her companion Wayne Belcher.

Survivors include: her partner, Wayne Belcher of Troy; sons, June Noyal Yancy Segura of Jacksonville, Fla. and Keelan Joseph Segura of New Iberia, La.; grandchildren: Anthony, Jonathon and Keelie Marie; brother, David Owen and 13 nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4 at the Troy Baptist Church with Pastor Foote officiating.

Interment services will follow at Milnor Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home and from noon to 1:45 p.m. onThursday at the church.
