John D. Riggs, Jr.

John David Riggs, Jr., 60, a resident of the Gaston, Ore. community, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at his home.

Graveside Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 at the Boyd Hill Cemetery in Yaak. Interment will follow at the cemetery.

John was born Feb. 18, 1947 in Oklahoma City, Okla., the son of John David Riggs, Sr. and Colleen (Schuldt) Riggs. He was raised and received his education in the Oklahoma City community.

He was united in marriage to Loretta M. Lemley on May 30, 1999 in Reno, Nevada. Following their marriage they made their home in Yaak until 2006 when they moved to Oregon, settling in the Gaston community. John and Loretta celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary this past May.

John worked as a truck driver, having owned and operated "John Riggs Trucking" for several years.

Among his interests, John enjoyed fishing and spending time with his son, Kolton.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Barbara Garrison.

John is survived by his wife, Loretta M. Riggs of Gaston; six daughters: Kim Ford of Tulsa of Oklahoma, Holly Hazelwood of Newalla, Okla., Diane Snow and her husband, Allan, of Broken Arrow, Okla., Julie Augliar of Springfield, Mo.; Amber Showalter and her husband, David of Springfield, Mo., and Lauren Riggs of Gaston, Ore.; a son, Kolton Riggs of Gaston, Ore.; his mother, Colleen Testermen of Newalla, Okla.; five sisters, Karen Huffman of Dewey, Okla.; Donna Mason, Judy Lawery, and Pat Smith all of Newalla, Okla.; and Shirley Davis of McLoud, Okla.; and a brother, Orvan Testerman of Osasso, Okla.

Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests that remembrances may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 900 SW Oak Street, Hillsboro, Ore. 97123, in his memory.
