Ceremony honors victims
The Community Asbestos Memorial Project (CAMP) will be holding a Memorial service to honor victims of the asbestos exposure in Libby.
CAMP is a local group who has worked towards establishing a memorial in honor of Libby Asbestos Victims.
Last year the city donated a space at the River Front Park and the materials for a pavilion. Volunteers from the community provided the work to build the pavilion.
This year at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 26 there will be a workday to prepare the grounds around the pavilion. At 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 27 there will be a memorial service. People are asked to bring plants or flowers they would like to plant in honor of a loved one they wish to remember.
A Memorial Service, in lieu of the white cross ceremony at the cemetery, will be held at the River Front Memorial Park, at the pavilion; at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 27. Anyone who wants one of the old white crosses may collect it at the service on Sunday.
