Joy L. Nadrau

Joy L. Nadrau, 80, of Libby, died Wednesday at the Libby Care Center. Joy was born to William Ramey and Mildred (Pippinger) Ramey on July 12, 1926 in Williston, N. D.; the family moved to Bainville, Mont. where Joy was raised and educated. She married Lester (Les) Nadrau in 1952 and, in 1953, they came to Libby where Joy has resided for the past 54 years.

Joy had been a longtime employee of St. John Lutheran Hospital, working in the dietary department as a cook for many years until her retirement. Her husband Les preceded her in death in 1993.

A prolific gardener, Joy was an expert in raising roses, as well as flowers and vegetables of all varieties. In addition, she also had fruit trees of all varieties; she enjoyed sharing what she grew with friends and family. She had been a member of the Kootenai Valley Church of Christ.

Survivors include her daughter Betty Drake of Mount Vernon, Wash.; her son, Tom Nadrau of Spokane, Wash.; her grandchildren, Patrick Nadrau, Natalie Chapin and Brad Drake; and her great-grandchildren Corina and Cameron.

Services will be at 1p.m. today at the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home Chapel; interment services will follow at the City of Libby Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to service time today. A reception will follow the interment services at Fireman's Park.
