Gerry Rose

Gerald Arthur Rose, 70, of Post Falls, Idaho, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007.

He was born Sept. 18, 1936, in Polson to Arthur and Emily Rose. His mother was a longtime teacher in Libby.

Gerry was a business owner, abalone fisherman, logger and hotel banquet manager.

He was an avid reader, theologian, nature enthusiast and hiker. Gerry enjoyed movies, books, time in the sun, hunting, swimming and family.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

Gerry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Leslie Ann; and a brother, Norman.

He is survived by his children, Michael Evans, and Bill and David Rose, all of Spokane, Jeff Rose of Sumner, Mark Rose of Seattle, Maria Prendergast of Kirkland and Jay Brooks of Jasper, Canada; sisters Peggy Brothers of Post Falls, Becky Beimbler of Alaska and Sylvia Rose Johnson of Puyallup; 10 grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

Services were held March 17 at English Funeral Home in Post Falls followed by a graveside service in Libby.
